How to Heal Your Thyroid Naturally

The thyroid plays an important role in every process of the body, so when it’s not in balance, many different symptoms can arise. Thankfully, it’s possible to heal the thyroid naturally when the body is given the right tools.

Your thyroid is super sensitive to any kind of stress, and it simply responds to the environment it’s in.

The good news is that your thyroid WANTS to work properly, but you have to give it the right environment.

Here are 4 ways you can heal the thyroid naturally:

  1. Support your adrenals- When the body is under chronic stress, the adrenals will send out cortisol into the bloodstream. Over time, chronic cortisol output can weaken the endocrine system, immune system, liver, digestive system, and brain. It can also cause the thyroid to slow down. You want to make sure you are eating organic, nutrient-dense food, exercising/walking, eating breakfast within 1 hour of waking, eating in a relaxed state, spending more time outdoors, go to bed at the same time every night (10 pm ideally), consider a quality B vitamin, consider apoptogenic herbs like Ashwagandha, eat protein at each meal, eat magnesium-rich foods, and eliminate caffeine (don't shoot the messenger!)

  2. Reduce your sugar intake- Sugar and stress basically do the same thing in the body, so to help balance your thyroid hormones and support the immune system, you need to watch your sugar intake.

  3. Run a FULL Thyroid panel-Test for more than just TSH. TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid hormone, so you have to check your thyroid hormones to know what’s really going on. Ask to run TSH, Free T4, Free T3, TPO antibodies, and Reverse T3.

  4. Support your liver-The liver performs over 500 different functions and it’s responsible for converting most of your Free T4 into Free T3, which is the active thyroid hormone.
